I sat down expecting to watch a sexy film full of steamy adulterous sex ala Unfaithful instead what I encountered was a moving thriller. Charlie (Clive Owen) and Lucinda (Jennifer Aniston) meet on train. Just when the two decide to become secret lovers and have some filthy sex in a motel is when theyíre stopped by a fierce criminal La Rouche (Vincent Cassel). The two soon become pawns in a dangerous game that involves murder, deceit, and mystery. Just when you think youíve got everything figured out the director pulls plot twist that makes the film worth watching.

A young man (Ryan Gosling) goes to his psychiatrist (Ewan McGreggor) to inform him that heís planning to commit suicide in three days. The Psychiatrist wishes to help and tries to understand the young manís motives. The Psychiatristís girlfriend (Naomi Watts) a former suicide case herself tries to unveil the young manís difficulty to face his life. Stellar cast, stellar plot, but stellar confusion. If anybody understood the sense of this film please let me know.

Title:The Chaos Cycle
The title of this book says it all. The storyline is a bit chaotic as it incorporates various characters that at first donít seem to be related at all. Once the story unfolds you begin to notice that thereís a correlation with all the characters and the events fall into place. Crude, violent, and raw, everything that a good mystery/thriller novel should include.

Author:Camille De Peretti
The autobiography of a young Parisian woman affected by bulimia. She describes the scary spiral she finds herself trapped within as she attempts to keep her low weight by constantly throwing up at any occasion she can. What makes this memoir different from others is the authorís ability to not lie to herself or the reader. The book doesnít have a so-called happy ending, the author is never ďcuredĒ but merely has learned to suppress her need for throwing up, which makes the book very credible and authentic.
Title:Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim
David Sedaris has the striking skill of recounting mundane family anecdotes in a manner than renders them completely hilarious. Heís a comedic genius and he doesnít even know it. This is the first book that Iíve read that Iíve found myself laughing aloud throughout every chapter. Itís not necessarily that the authorís life is interesting but itís the way he presents it that makes it appear quite laughable from the part where he decides to become a hippy so that people can give him money without working to going to his brotherís wedding and wishing he was in the room with the women because staying with his father and brother watching football on TV wasnít his idea of a memorable afternoon. If you were to choose only one book to read this year, this should be the one.
