If you’ve ever thought that paintings were retro, think again. Modern painters have trouble receiving the notoriety they deserve, because as the past has taught us, paintings gain more value once the painter deceases, only a few elite select have been able to become famous while alive such as Andy Warhol. Despite this theory, there are some really talented painters today, and one of which is Jonathan. His paintings convey passion and emotion. His canvas captures the soul and core emotions of the people that pose for him.
What inspires you to paint?
”I can’t stand to waste time watching TV or other boring activities, painting is at least constructive and we all need to express our selves.”
What kind of media do you work with?
”I stopped working with oils as I was being poisoned by the thinners, now I mostly use acrylics.”
With the increase popularity that photographers have now, do you think that paintings still have the same importance in art as before?
”They are even more important now, photographs can show so much but are limited, a painting can display more feeling in general.
