In 18th century London, opium rooms were the thriving social life of poets, writers, and any other respected person in Victorian society. Today, some wish to substitute the opium for Heroin, creating Heroin rooms or as some like to call them, “shoot-up” rooms.
Many citizens feel that if such procedure would be legalized, crime on the streets would diminish also breaking down the regime of the drug dealers as well. Of course, many people also argue that legalizing drugs such as Heroin would give a chance to anyone to legally shoot up.
A lot of European governments are looking into the possibility of legally having shoot up rooms. This would insure less risks for the citizen because everything would be provided for him/her, from the drug right to the disinfected new syringe for every shoot-up. Many government leaders are realizing that if they would legalize drugs, the money that the citizen would normally use to buy drugs with from a dealer, would ultimately go to the state. Taking the hint from cigarette companies, many are noticing that with the ban on drugs they’ve been losing millions, if not billions of dollars. And who has been receiving all this money throughout the years? Third world drug lords that use the money to replenish their arms stock for their many civil wars and revolts or in acts of terrorism.
Although many governments in Europe are becoming more tolerant towards light drugs such as marijuana, many are still a bit reluctant over legalizing the heavier drugs such as cocaine and heroin.
But every politician is interested in how they can find a way to make more money. There’s so many times you can tax a product, if anyone becomes desperate enough for an increase in funds, you can bet your money that shoot up rooms will start popping up out of nowhere.
The Victorian era is very en vogue lately, why not take note of their favourite pastime as well?
