The first thing one notices when looking at a photo by Geoffrey Hicks is the way all his photos look terribly authentic and raw. They’re like looking directly through the eyes of the photographer, untouched, not airbrushed, and real.
The models he chooses for his photos vary in style and body type giving his photos a flavour of diversity and dynamic. He’s known to work with themes, two of his best theme-photo shoots are the Tattoo photos and the Cubed photos. The Cubed photos are my favourite, as he captures the personality of various interesting models that look like they’re trapped inside a white cube. When he’s not capturing people, his unique vision enables perfectly normal scenery look extraordinary, while everyday objects are shown with a new twist. If Dennis Cooper would be taking photos, this is how they would look like.
