This month’s pin-up girl, Babette, flirts with sadomasochism.
Do you think that technology has helped bring people together or managed to separate them even more?
Many people think that it depends on how one uses technology, it depends on us if it has negative or positive effects on our lives or in society. I think that Mc Luhan was right when he said, “The medium is the message,” in other words it us that is conditioned by technology. Maybe technology hasn’t brought us closer together or apart, but simply has modified us, has modified our perception of the world and relationships.
Who do best represents female beauty in the last decade?
PJ Harvey. I think that she best represents modern femininity, being able to use her own weaknesses as a strong point, being able to use her own sexuality in a blunt manner but never vulgar. I consider her to be the poetic version of Courtney Love.
Which literary character do you think best represents you and why?
Amelie from The Metaphysics of Tubes, because her sense of abandonment that she feels in knowing that everything we’ve received we must give back, that death exists, it’s a rather familiar feeling.
If you could meet anyone dead or alive, who would it be?
Oscar Wilde, I would like to have been able to let him know that time has taken away his position of being guilty for a crime that isn’t considered such anymore. And Francois Truffaut, my favourite director.
If you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would you be?
In Tokyo. Possibly eating noodles and looking at the lights.
